"EcoPlanet Bamboo's Integrated Strategy for the Industrialization of Sustainably Grown & Manufactured Bamboo"
Troy Wiseman, Co-founder and CEO of EcoPlanet Bamboo, started his entrepreneurial career at age 20 when he co-founded a clothing manufacturing and retail company, best known for its B.U.M. Equipment label, for which he served as a Director and various executive roles during his career including Executive Vice President and COO. Over the next 7 years the company’s revenue grew from US$0 to US$120 million before selling the company and starting The InvestLinc Group, a private equity and advisory firm in 1992.
Troy served as InvestLinc’s Chairman and CEO for 14 years, eventually selling the company in 2006. InvestLinc was built around a proprietary private equity model that Troy created. However, the company evolved into a fully integrated financial services firm, which included a diversified private equity “family of funds”, business advisory, M&A, money management and estate planning services, with offices in eight U.S. states.
In 2006 Troy joined the ranks of Howard Hughes, Henry Ford II, Orson Welles and four U.S. Presidents when he was selected as one of “Ten Outstanding Young Americans”. The Ten Outstanding Young Americans program ("TOYA") is one of the oldest and most prestigious recognition programs in America. Annually since 1938, the United States program has sought out the ten young men and women who best exemplify the attributes of America’s youthful achievers.
In 2007 Troy co-founded and served as Chairman of TriLinc Global, a social impact publically traded investment fund, focused on bringing scalable private capital to SME entrepreneurs in developing countries, with the goal of targeting triple bottom line returns. Troy resigned as Chairman in 2010 in order to dedicate his full time efforts on building EcoPlanet Bamboo Group.
Troy’s environmental and social achievements through EcoPlanet Bamboo were recently recognized as he joined the elite Board of the Earth Day Network, the world’s largest environmental movement, where he focuses on bringing environmental literacy to school curriculums around the world.
